Below are the full details of each event (Titanic Fri, Tour & Dinner Sat). Some important info that affects multiple events: 

• UM is 24/7 paid parking now. UM uses PaybyPhone parking app so we suggest downloading that and setting it up for the weekend (need license plate, etc.) Find the signs and enter the code for the area you park. 
• Rideshare is always an option. Miami has Uber, Lyft, and if you are adventurous, Waymo
• UM baseball is away at FSU. Titanic and the Alumni Center are near the stadium so that’s good news for us.

Friday, May 15

Get Together at Titanic

We hope you can join us for a happy hour or two on Friday at Titanic. We provide some appetizers. Drinks and additional food are on your own. 

Where: Titanic Brewery and Restaurant 

5813 Ponce de Leon Blvd, Coral Gables, FL 33146

(Near the UM baseball stadium; next to All Canes store)

When: 7-9pm

Parking: 

• Lot: There is a lot behind Titanic and a lot behind the Alumni Center that is UM owned. 
• Street Parking: (City of Coral Gables) is available on Ponce, San Amaro, and Levante. They also use the PaybyPhone app.

Food: 

• Appetizers provided – Cheese Quesadillas, Peel & Eat Shrimp, Smoked Fish Dip, Conch Fritters
• Drinks and additional food on your own (they have a full bar and dinner menu).

Saturday, May 16

Campus Tour

We invite you to take a guided UM Gables campus tour. There are a lot of new buildings and a couple of dorms soon to be torn down and the campus bookstore is open. We hope you can join us!

Where: UM Admissions Building – tour starts outside there 

• Address: 1306 Stanford Dr #1210, Coral Gables, FL 33146
• Near the U statue, the Rock, the bookstore, etc. at the end of Stanford Drive where the circle is

When: 11:30am – meet outside Admissions 

75-90 minute tour (approximately)

Parking: 

• Street Parking: There are some spots along Stanford Drive near the circle

Open on Campus:

• The bookstore is open! (10am-5pm) 
• Starbucks in the Shalala Student Center by the lake is open (8am-4pm) 
• Subway (8am-4pm) and Market NXT (8am-8pm) in the Hurricane Food Court are open

Reunion Dinner

We hope you can join us for dinner to celebrate UM Debate and Dave’s 36 year tenure as its Director of Debate!

Where: The Newman Alumni Center at UM

  • 1st Floor; the room is the Dany Garcia & Dwayne Johnson Living Room
  • We are the only event and there is a student at the desk so you will find us!

When: 7:00-10:00pm 

Dress: Business Casual 

Parking: There is a UM parking lot behind the Alumni Center – entrances off of Brescia and Levante. UM is paid 24/7 parking. Active UM parking permits do not have to pay. 

Food:  Buffet; “Taste of the South” 

Menu: Pulled Pork Sliders, Fried Chicken, Mac & Cheese, BBQ Baked Beans, Lime Cilantro Slaw, Cheddar Jalapeno Cornbread. Desert: Banana Pudding
